Rod was born in Wagga Wagga and but has lived in Canberra for over 30 years. He’s happily married with four grown-up kids finding their own way in life.

After a tough day’s work, he loves a cold beer and even brews some of his own “craft” beer, not really ‘craft” beer, more like VB or Carlton. Along with brewing his own beer, he loves travelling when he has spare time. Rod’s a mad Parramatta Eels supporter and loves to wear the blue and gold. He’s also a Collingwood supporter, but don’t hold that against him.

Rod enjoys having a successful small business with an excellent reputation and is always focused on passing his knowledge, experience and values onto his apprentices. He loves plumbing as it’s a problem-solving job that keeps him thinking and engaged all the time.

Simon was born in Adelaide and moved to Canberra in 1992. He’s married with one daughter and nuts about AFL.

Simon follows the Adelaide Crows and played with the local Weston Creek Wildcats for 20yrs. He loves cooking up a big feed on the BBQ whilst watching the footy.

Simon started as Rod’s apprentice in 2004, and their friendship and shared values developed from there.

In 2014 Simon and Rod became business partners with the common goal to build a business with a reputation for delivering excellent service at a reasonable price.

Star Plumbing & Gas’s integrity and reputation are of great importance to both Simon and Rod and they are focused on passing these good old Aussie values onto their apprentices.
